14-Day Grand Tour
Our 14-day Grand Tour takes you from the Mediterranean Sea to the Sahara Desert, from the Atlas Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean, and everything in between. Whether it's a camel ride across sand dunes, shopping in the old medinas, or relaxing on the beach, each day will bring a new adventure in this colorful, welcoming country.
Day 1
CASABLANCA, RABAT
Arrive in Casablanca and meet your driver. Begin with a visit to the stunning Hassan II Mosque. Continue on to Rabat to visit the Hassan Tower and Mohammed V Mausoleum. Overnight in Rabat.
Day 2
ASILAH, TANGIER
After breakfast, depart Rabat and make your way north towards the Mediterranean Sea. Stop in Asilah to explore the charming white-washed museum that has become a hub for artists. Continue to the legendary Cave of Hercules. Spend the evening exploring Tangier’s waterfront, perhaps enjoying their vibrant nightlife. Overnight in Tangier.
Day 3
CHEFCHAOUEN
Depart Tangier in the morning and head to Chefchaouen, nestled high in the lush Rif Mountain. Spend the day exploring the incredible blue city that has drawn photographers from the world over. Perhaps take an afternoon hike to the old Spanish fortress overlooking the city. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 4
VOLUBILIS, MEKNES, FES
Make your way south, stopping first to see the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Continue on to the Imperial City of Meknes, visiting Bab Mansour, the ancient Royal Stables, and perhaps indulging in a bit of shopping in the medina. Complete your journey to Fes. Overnight in Fes.
Day 5
FES
Tour the city with a private guide. See the seven golden doors of the Royal Palace, stroll through the mellah, visit a pottery co-op, and explore the sites of the ancient medina, including, of course, the famous Fes dye pits, where leather is still processed the way it was 1,000 years ago. Overnight in Fes.
Day 6
ATLAS MOUNTAINS, MERZOUGA
Depart Fes and make your way south, following the Atlas Mountains and making stops in Ifrane, Azrou, Zaida, and Errichidia. Reach the Sahara Desert in the evening and check into your riad. Dinner included in your riad that night. Overnight in Merzouga.
Day 7
SAHARA DESERT
Take the day to explore the Sahara Desert! Whether by ATV, SUV, or on foot, a desert experience is a magical part of your trip! you can visit the Gnawa village with its entrancing music, have lunch in the middle of the dunes, or even make a trip to nearby Rissani. In the afternoon, meet your camel for a trek into your luxury camp. Enjoy dinner at the camp, followed by live music and stargazing around the bonfire. Overnight in the Sahara Desert.
Day 8
BOUMALNE DADES, OUARZAZATE
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. Depart camp after breakfast and meet up with your driver once more. Begin the journey west, stopping in Boumalne Dades to see the breathtaking Todra Gorge. Stop for some rose products as you pass through Kalaat M’Gouna before reaching Ouarzazate, the Moroccan Hollywood. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 9
AIT BENHADDOU, MARRAKECH
If you have an interest in movies, you may want to visit some of the local filming locations before heading out of town - Atlas Film Studios, Kasbah Taourirt, and the Cinema Museum. As you depart Ouarzazate, be sure to stop at Ait Benhaddou, the ancient ksar on a hill that was once an important stop on the trade route from the Sahara. Continue over the Atlas Mountains once more via Tichka Pass to reach Marrakech in the evening. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 10
MARRAKECH
Tour Marrakech with a private guide. See the Koutoubia Mosque, visit the Bahia Palace, and explore the winding souks surrounding Jemaa el Fna. With everything from mountains of spices to workshops where shoes are handmade to woodworkers to rugs and everything in between the medina is filled with treasures. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 11
MARRAKECH
Enjoy a free day in Marrakech. Maybe visit the Majorelle Garden and Yves Saint Laurent Museum. Perhaps book a traditional hammam. Or just spend some take exploring the city and soaking in the culture. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 12
ESSAOUIRA
Depart Marrakech at you leisure to travel to the coastal city of Essaouira, hopefully spotting the goats that climb the argan trees along the way! Spend the afternoon on the Essaouira beach. Overnight in Essaouira.
Day 13
ESSAOUIRA
Enjoy a free day in Essaouira. Explore the laid back medina, walk along the ancient Portuguese ramparts, see the famous blue fishing boats, or maybe arrange a horseback ride down the beach. Overnight in Essaouira. [If you have an early flight the following day, you may wish to travel north to Casablanca for your final night.]
Day 14
CASABLANCA, DEPARTURE
Your Moroccan adventure has now come to an end! After breakfast, return to Casablanca to catch your departure flight.
