Merzouga & Rissani

Located on the edge of the Sahara Desert near the Algerian border, both Merzouga and Rissani serve as the gateways to Erg Chebbi, a 50 km long and 5 km wide sea of sand dunes that reach up to 350 m high.

From here, visitors may opt to take a camel safari into the dunes, with the option to spend the night at a desert campsite, or in a traditional Berber village. Adventure-seekers might decide to explore the Sahara via quad bike instead, or to experience the unique thrill of sand-boarding or sand-skiing!
